Our 1X2 tips give you one call per match on the full-time result: the home side (1), a draw (X) or the away side (2). Each pick above shows the price we took and a confidence score, and every one is settled in the results table. This guide explains when the three-way market is worth playing, what we check before tipping it and how to judge a 1X2 prediction by its price rather than by the team’s name.

Key points

  • 1X2 is settled on 90 minutes plus stoppage time; extra time and penalties do not count.
  • We tip it when one result looks underpriced, not simply because a team is the favourite.
  • Divide 1 by the odds to see the chance the bookmaker is implying.
  • Judge any 1X2 tipster over at least 50 settled picks, not one weekend.

What a 1X2 pick covers

The 1X2 market has three outcomes and exactly one of them wins. A cup tie that is 1-1 after 90 minutes is settled as X even if a team goes through on penalties, which catches out many new punters. If a match is postponed and not played within the bookmaker’s window (often 24 to 48 hours), the bet is usually void and your stake comes back.

That is all you need to use the picks above. For a full breakdown of the symbols and how bookmakers display them, read our guide to what 1X2 means.

When 1X2 is the right market

Three-way betting suits matches where you have a clear opinion on who wins and the price rewards that opinion. It pays the most of the result markets because you carry the full draw risk. Pick a different market when your view is less sharp:

  • You like a team but fear a draw: draw no bet picks refund your stake on a draw.
  • You want the draw to count as a win too: use 1X or X2 selections at shorter odds.
  • The favourite is priced below 1.30: a handicap line usually gives a fairer price than a straight win.

Our 1X2 list tends to include favourites from about 1.40 to 2.20, some away sides in the 2.40 to 3.50 range, and occasional draws where both sides look closely matched.

The data we check before every 1X2 pick

  1. Venue-split form. We look at the last 6 to 10 matches at home for the host and away for the visitor, because a combined form line hides big differences.
  2. Expected goals. xG for and against shows whether a run of wins was earned or lucky, and lucky runs tend to fade.
  3. Team news. A missing first-choice goalkeeper or central striker can move the true chance of a win by several percentage points.
  4. Schedule and motivation. A side playing its third match in eight days, or one with nothing left to play for, gets marked down.
  5. Price check. We turn our view into a percentage and compare it with the bookmaker’s implied probability. No gap, no tip.

Head-to-head results get a small weight only. A win four years ago, under a different coach and with a different squad, says little about Saturday.

Typical 1X2 odds and the probability behind them

Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal odds. If you want the maths in more depth, see how to read betting odds, or run any price through the odds calculator.

Common 1X2 prices
Odds Implied chance Usually means
1.30 76.9% Strong favourite
1.70 58.8% Clear favourite
2.50 40.0% Slight favourite or even game
3.30 30.3% Typical draw price
5.00 20.0% Underdog

Add the three implied chances for one match and you get more than 100%. With 1.90, 3.50 and 4.20 the total is about 105%; the extra 5% is the bookmaker’s margin. A tip only has value when our estimate beats the implied figure by more than that margin.

Example An away side is priced at 2.75, which implies 36.4%. Our data puts their chance nearer 42%. A ₦2,000 stake returns ₦5,500 if they win (₦3,500 profit) and loses ₦2,000 if they do not. Over many bets like this, that six-point edge is what turns a profit; any single one can still lose.

Common mistakes with 1X2 bets

  • Stacking short favourites. Five teams at 1.25 look safe, yet each needs about an 80% chance just to break even, and one upset sinks the slip.
  • Forgetting the draw. In the Premier League roughly 23% of matches over the last ten seasons ended level, so “who wins” is often the wrong question.
  • Backing names, not form. Big clubs away from home in a congested month are frequently overpriced by public money.
  • Ignoring the 90-minute rule. Knockout favourites who usually win after extra time still lose your 1X2 bet if it is level at full time.

How 1X2 picks fit on a slip

A single is the cleanest way to bet a three-way pick. If you combine them, keep it to two or three legs. Three picks at 1.65, 1.80 and 2.10 multiply to 6.24, so ₦1,000 would return ₦6,237, but the implied chance of all three landing is only about 16%. Test the numbers on the accumulator calculator first, and see our daily acca tips if multiples are your style. Some bookmakers also offer an early-payout version of this market, explained in what 1UP means.

How to read the 1X2 picks and results above

Use the market filter to show only 1X2 selections. Each row gives the kick-off in WAT, the pick (1, X or 2), the odds at the time we published and a confidence score from 1 to 5. A 4 or 5 means the gap between our probability and the price was largest; a 2 is a lean worth a smaller stake.

The results table records every 1X2 tip as won, lost or void with the final score. Read the 30-day ROI box together with the hit rate: a 45% hit rate at average odds of 2.40 is profitable, while 70% at 1.35 is not. Frequently asked questions

No. A 1X2 bet is settled on the score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time. If a knockout match is 1-1 at full time, the draw (X) wins, even if one team later goes through after extra time or a penalty shoot-out. Use a 'to qualify' market if you want extra time counted.
