A 10 odds slip pays ten times your stake, so ₦500 comes back as ₦5,000 if every leg lands. The ticket above is built from four or five of our published predictions, each rated 3 out of 5 or better, and the 30-day table shows its record.

In short

  • 10.00 implies a 10% chance: about one winning slip in ten.
  • Our slip uses 4–5 legs, each roughly 1.55–2.30.
  • Every leg you add multiplies the risk, not just the odds.
  • A system bet or split stake can soften a single losing leg.

How often a 10 odds slip really lands

No 10-odds ticket is sure. The price itself tells you the market expects it to win about one time in ten, before margin. A well-built slip can beat that a little, perhaps winning one time in eight, but it will still lose most days. If a tipster sells a guaranteed 10 odds slip every day, ask why they need your money when ten days of rolling ₦1,000 at 10.00 would make them a fortune.

What we can offer is transparency. Every leg is one of our normal predictions with its own reasoning, and every slip is settled in the history above, wins and losses alike.

How the 10 odds slip is put together

The builder runs each morning on the day’s published picks. It only takes those rated 3 or more out of 5, uses one leg per match, and prefers legs priced between about 1.55 and 2.30, which usually means four or five legs to reach 10.00. It leaves out correct score, HT/FT, corners, cards, goalscorers and shots, because those markets add odds faster than they add accuracy. If the pool cannot reach about 10.00 honestly, the page says the slip is not ready.

Example Four legs at 1.65, 1.80, 1.75 and 1.95 give total odds of 1.65 × 1.80 × 1.75 × 1.95 = 10.14. A ₦1,000 stake returns ₦10,135, a profit of ₦9,135. Three of the four legs winning still returns nothing.

What makes a good 10 odds leg

At 1.55 to 2.30 per leg, the strongest candidates tend to be clear favourites at home, away sides covered with double chance at a decent price, and goals lines in matches where both teams create chances. A draw no bet leg can also work, because a draw voids it rather than killing the slip; most bookmakers then settle that leg at 1.00 and pay the rest at lower total odds.

What does not fit: a 1.12 favourite added only to make up numbers, or a 3.40 outsider dropped in to reach 10.00 in three legs. Both change the slip’s risk without adding confidence.

Why the win chance drops with every leg

The chance of an accumulator landing is the chance of each leg multiplied together. Even legs you rate as likely winners shrink quickly when combined.

Chance that every leg wins
Chance per leg 4 legs 5 legs
55% 9.2% 5.0%
60% 13.0% 7.8%
65% 17.9% 11.6%

Four legs you each rate at 60% give a slip that wins 13% of the time, comfortably above the 10% that 10.00 implies. Add a fifth 60% leg and the slip drops to 7.8%, below that line, unless the extra leg’s price takes the total well past 10.00. That is why the builder keeps the count at four or five and does not chase 10.00 with eight short prices.

Partial cover: softening one losing leg

With four or five legs, the most common painful result is losing by one. Two simple ways to keep something back on those days:

Split the stake into trebles

Most Nigerian bookmakers offer system bets. A “3 from 4” system places four separate trebles from your four legs. Using the example legs, ₦250 on each treble costs ₦1,000. If all four legs win you get back ₦5,690.53. If only the 1.95 leg loses, the 1.65 × 1.80 × 1.75 treble still pays ₦1,299.38. You give up over 40% of the top return (₦5,690.53 against ₦10,135 on a straight four-fold) in exchange for surviving one bad leg.

Back the strongest two as a side double

Put ₦700 on the full slip and ₦300 on a double of your two most confident legs. With legs at 1.65 and 1.75, the double pays ₦866.25. If everything wins, total return is about ₦7,961; if only a weaker leg fails, you get ₦866.25 back and lose ₦133.75 instead of ₦1,000.

Cash-out is a third option where your bookmaker offers it, but the offer is usually below the fair value of your slip. See our page on in-play betting and cash-out before relying on it.

10 odds against smaller and bigger targets

If the 30-day history shows long gaps between wins, that is normal for this size of ticket: at a 10% chance, the probability of going 15 slips without a win is about 21%. If you would rather win more often, the 5 odds treble needs one or two fewer legs. If you want even bigger targets, the big odds slip goes to 20 and beyond, with an even longer wait between wins.

You can test any combination in our acca payout calculator, and our guide to how accumulators work explains doubles, trebles, folds and system bets in more depth.

Staking a 10 odds prediction sensibly

At 10.00, three wins in 30 slips is break-even on a flat stake. Four wins puts ₦1,000-a-day punters ₦10,000 ahead; two wins leaves them ₦10,000 down. Because results are so lumpy, keep the stake small and fixed, for example half of what you would put on a 2.00 slip.

A 10 odds slip that loses by one leg is still a loss. Do not respond by adding the failed team’s next match to tomorrow’s slip “to make it back”, or by staking more on the next ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Four or five. That lets each leg sit around 1.55 to 2.30, where confident picks are often priced. Building 10.00 from eight or nine short prices adds bookmaker margin with every leg and makes a single upset far more likely.
