On this page
8xBet is a brand to approach carefully in Nigeria: its Lagos licence is real, but almost everything else a punter needs to know is hard to confirm. This 8xBet review explains who holds the licence, why there are so many 8xbet websites and the checks to run before you deposit a single Naira.
Strivora Limited, Aplus Limited and the Lagos licence
8xBet started as an Asia-focused betting brand. In July 2022 Manchester City announced it as the club’s official betting partner in Asia, a deal SBC News reported alongside questions about the operator’s licensing claims at the time. Its corporate site at 8xbet.com now says the brand is owned by Aplus Limited, a company registered in the Marshall Islands, and features former England striker Teddy Sheringham as an ambassador.
The Nigerian side is different. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) register lists Strivora Limited with the trade name 8XBet for online sports betting and online casino, with a licence running from 5 June 2026 to 4 June 2027. Strivora was also on the Lagos licensed list released in September 2025. Strivora’s own website describes a Lagos digital agency based in Ikeja, and neither company explains publicly how the two are connected.
A Lagos licence matters: it gives you a Nigerian regulator to complain to if a withdrawal is refused. Read our guide to betting regulation in Nigeria for how state licensing works after the November 2024 Supreme Court ruling.
Finding the real 8xBet site
Search for 8xbet in Nigeria and you will find a long list of domains with “8xbet” plus extra numbers or country endings, many of them promotional pages or outright copies. One such site names Strivora as operator in its footer but sends its login button to a bare IP address, a pattern that should make anyone wary. 8xbet.ng carries the brand’s “official betting partner” title, but we could not confirm from its public code that it is the site run by the Lagos licensee.
Before registering, contact the Lagos authority or the operator through a channel you found yourself, and confirm the exact web address covered by the licence. Never enter bank details on a site reached through a WhatsApp or Telegram link.
Bonuses and promotions
We found no welcome offer published by the operator. Promotional pages quote figures such as a small registration gift and a first-deposit bonus, but none can be traced to a verified 8xBet page, so the bonus box shows “not published”. If an offer appears in your account, check four things: the qualifying deposit, the rollover multiple, the minimum odds and the expiry. A 100% match with a 10x rollover on ₦10,000 means ₦100,000 of betting before you can withdraw, which is a lot of turnover for a modest deposit. Compare that with the offers on our bonuses page.
Opening an account
The sign-up form could not be inspected, so these are the steps any Nigerian licensee should take you through; walk away if the site skips identity checks entirely.
- Confirm you are on the licensed domain, then choose Register.
- Enter a Nigerian mobile number and create a password.
- Verify the number with the SMS code.
- Give your legal name and date of birth; you must be 18 or over.
- Complete KYC with a government ID before your first withdrawal.
Sports, live betting and casino
The Lagos category covers both sports betting and online casino, and the brand describes itself as a sports betting and casino platform. We could not confirm the number of sports, NPFL coverage, live betting, cash out, streaming, virtuals or Aviator on a verified Nigerian page, so the feature checklist is left blank rather than filled with guesses. If football depth matters to you, compare the menu with a bookmaker whose markets are documented, such as those on our best betting sites list.
App downloads
No official app store listing for Nigeria could be confirmed. Several unofficial pages offer APK files; installing one gives that file wide access to your phone. Only install an app linked from the licensed domain, and see our betting apps guide for how to sideload safely.
Payments and withdrawals
Deposit methods, minimums, withdrawal limits and payout times are not published on any page we could verify. Start with the smallest deposit the cashier allows and request a small withdrawal before building a balance; how that first withdrawal is handled is the best test of any new bookmaker.
Customer support
Phone numbers shown on unofficial 8xbet pages conflict with each other, and the corporate site only offers a contact form. Use the help or chat option inside your account once you are sure you are on the licensed site.
Should you use 8xBet?
The Lagos licence is a genuine point in its favour, but missing terms and domain confusion make 8xBet a site for cautious, experienced punters only. If you want a licensed bookmaker with published limits, SportyBet or Bet9ja are easier to check. Set a budget before you play.
Our verdict on 8xBet
8xBet holds a current Lagos licence through Strivora Limited, valid to June 2027, which puts it ahead of many offshore brands on paper. Beyond that, very little is verifiable: bonus terms, deposit and withdrawal limits, payout times and support contacts are not published on any page we could read, and dozens of look-alike 8xbet websites target Nigerian searches. It may suit punters who confirm the official domain and terms directly with the operator. Everyone else should start with a better-documented licensed bookmaker.

8xBet FAQ
Yes. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority register lists Strivora Limited, trading as 8XBet, for online sports betting and online casino from 5 June 2026 to 4 June 2027. Confirm which web address the licence covers before you sign up.
The brand itself has a current Lagos licence, but many unofficial websites use the 8xbet name. The risk lies mainly in landing on a copy. Reach the site through a verified link, avoid shared APK files and test a small withdrawal first.
The 8xbet.com corporate site says the brand is owned by Aplus Limited, registered in the Marshall Islands. In Nigeria the Lagos licence is held by Strivora Limited. Neither company publicly explains the relationship between them.
Manchester City named 8xBet its official betting partner in Asia in July 2022. We could not confirm the current status of that deal, and a sponsorship says nothing about how a site treats Nigerian customers.
No welcome offer is published on a verified 8xBet page. Figures on promotional sites could not be confirmed. If an offer appears in your account, read the rollover, minimum odds and expiry before opting in.
