A 3 odds prediction is a slip that pays about three times your stake: ₦1,000 back as ₦3,000. The slip above is put together each day from our published predictions, usually as a double of two mid-priced picks, and the 30-day table shows how it has performed.

What a 3.00 slip looks like

Total odds of 3.00 imply a 33.3% chance, or one win in three, before the bookmaker’s margin. That is a big step down from 2.00, where the implied chance is 50%. You are accepting more losing days in exchange for each win paying an extra ₦1,000 per ₦1,000 staked.

The most common shapes are a double of two prices between about 1.60 and 1.90, a single selection at around 3.00, or a treble of three shorter prices. Each one behaves differently, and the right choice depends on what you are comfortable losing on a bad day.

Two-leg double or one 3.00 single?

Ways to reach about 3.00
Route Example prices Total Implied chance
Single 3.00 3.00 33.3%
Double 1.70 × 1.75 2.98 33.6%
Double 1.60 × 1.90 3.04 32.9%
Treble 1.40 × 1.45 × 1.48 3.00 33.3%

A single at 3.00 is often a draw, an away win or a goals line that the market doubts. It pays only one margin, but it rests on one result that the bookmaker already rates as unlikely. A double lets you combine two outcomes the market rates above 50% each, which many punters find easier to analyse. A treble at 3.00 rarely makes sense, because three margins eat into a modest return.

Example You stake ₦2,000 on an away win at 1.60 and both teams to score in a different match at 1.90. The double pays 1.60 × 1.90 = 3.04, so ₦2,000 returns ₦6,080, a profit of ₦4,080. Lose either leg and the ₦2,000 is lost.

How the 3 odds slip above is chosen

The slip is assembled automatically every day from predictions already published on our site. It only accepts picks we rate at least 3 out of 5, never takes two legs from the same fixture, and prefers prices that reach the 3.00 target in two legs rather than four.

Some markets are excluded on purpose: correct score, HT/FT, corners, cards, goalscorers and shots. They can push the odds up quickly but are too unpredictable for a slip meant to land regularly. If the day’s picks cannot honestly reach about 3.00, the page shows “not ready” rather than a padded ticket. Every leg is also a normal tip, so you can read its reasoning in the full list of today’s predictions.

Why each extra leg costs you

Bookmakers pay less than the fair price on every selection. Suppose each price is 5% short of fair. On a single you lose 5% of the fair value; on a multiple those shortfalls stack.

How a 5% shortfall per leg compounds
Legs Value lost vs fair odds
1 5.0%
2 9.8%
3 14.3%
4 18.5%

This is why the 3-odds slip leans on doubles. Two good legs give you a fair shot at 3.00 without paying the tax of a long ticket. For the multiplication behind it, our explanation of how multiples work covers doubles, trebles and folds.

Markets that suit a 3 odds double

Most 3.00 doubles come from two legs priced between 1.60 and 1.90. In that range you usually find a solid home or away win, a double chance pick on an away side, over 2.5 goals in a match between two attacking teams, or GG where both defences leak. Pairing one result leg with one goals leg means the two do not fail for the same reason.

Two prices around 1.73 each also give the double some slack: if your bookmaker pays 1.68 on one of them, the total still lands near 2.90 instead of collapsing. That matters more than it sounds, because a few points of price difference across a month decide whether a 3 odds habit ends in profit.

Sure 3 odds and the 3 odds banker

A ticket that wins one time in three by the bookmaker’s own pricing cannot be sure. A 3.00 slip that won more often than it lost would have to beat a 33% line by a wide margin, week after week. You can aim for an edge over that line; nobody can promise one.

Strong single picks at around 3.00 do exist, but calling one a banker misses the point: a price of 3.00 means the market expects it to fail two times in three. If you want one high-confidence selection at shorter odds, our daily banker pick is the better place to look.

The 3 odds rollover in numbers

Rolling a 3.00 slip grows money very quickly on paper: ₦1,000 becomes ₦3,000, then ₦9,000, then ₦27,000, then ₦81,000 after four wins. The catch is the chance of four straight wins.

Four-day 3 odds rollover
Win chance per slip Chance of 4 wins in a row
33% 1.2%
35% 1.5%
40% 2.6%

Even with a slip that beats its odds comfortably, a four-day chain fails about 97 times in 100. Most punters who try a rollover do it at 1.50 or 2.00 for this reason; our daily 2 odds slip is a gentler base, and the rollover strategy guide shows the trade-offs in full.

Judging the 30-day record

At 3.00 you break even by winning one slip in three. Over 30 days that is 10 wins: 10 × ₦3,000 returns the ₦30,000 staked on a flat ₦1,000. Twelve wins would leave you ₦6,000 up, and eight would leave you ₦6,000 down.

Expect losing runs. With a one-in-three chance, losing four or five slips in a row is normal and not a sign the method has broken. Keep the stake flat and judge by the month, not the week. If you prefer more legs and a bigger target, the 5 odds slip follows the same rules.

Frequently asked questions

Usually two. A double of two prices between about 1.60 and 1.90 reaches 3.00 while keeping the number of things that can go wrong low. Some days a single selection at around 3.00 fits better, and the builder avoids long tickets of small prices.
