A round robin calculator works out what happens when you split one set of picks into many smaller accumulators. Add 3 to 8 selections, mark each as won, lost or void, choose doubles, trebles or every combination, and it shows how many bets you placed, what they cost and what they return.

In short

  • A round robin places every combination of a chosen size from your list of picks.
  • Number of bets = n choose k, so 4 picks in doubles = 6 bets.
  • Total stake = number of bets × stake per bet.
  • A losing leg kills only the combinations it sits in; a void leg counts as odds 1.00.

How a round robin bet works

A round robin bet takes your selections and places every possible accumulator of one size. With picks A, B and C in doubles you get A+B, A+C and B+C: three separate bets. One loser no longer sinks the whole slip, as it would in a single accumulator bet, because the combinations without it can still pay.

The name means different things in different countries. In UK betting shops a “Round Robin” is a fixed 10-bet wager on three selections (three doubles, one treble and three pairs of up-and-down singles). This calculator uses the wider American meaning: all combinations of the size you choose. Several Nigerian betslips offer the same idea under a “System” option, so check your bookmaker’s slip before building the bets one by one, or compare sites on our ranked list of Nigerian bookmakers.

How many bets a round robin creates

The count is “n choose k”, where n is the number of selections and k the size of each combination. The numbers grow quickly, which is why your total stake can surprise you.

Selections Doubles Trebles All combinations
3 3 1 4
4 6 4 11
5 10 10 26
6 15 20 57
8 28 56 247

“All combinations” means every double, treble and larger accumulator up to the full n-fold, which is 2^n − n − 1 bets. Six picks in trebles at ₦500 per bet costs 20 × ₦500 = ₦10,000, not ₦500.

How to use the round robin calculator

  1. Add your selections. Enter 3 to 8 picks with their odds in decimal, fractional or American form.
  2. Set each result. Choose win, lose or void; leave everything on win to see the best case.
  3. Choose the combination size. Doubles, trebles, larger multiples or “all combinations”.
  4. Enter the stake per bet. This is the amount on each combination, not the total.
  5. Read the outputs. Number of bets, total stake, return, profit and maximum return appear instantly.

Worked example: four picks in doubles

Example Picks: A at 1.80, B at 2.10, C at 1.65, D at 2.50. Doubles at ₦500 each gives 6 bets and a total stake of ₦3,000. Results: A won, B won, C lost, D void. A+B pays ₦500 × 3.78 = ₦1,890. A+D pays ₦500 × 1.80 × 1.00 = ₦900. B+D pays ₦500 × 2.10 = ₦1,050. A+C, B+C and C+D lose. Return = ₦3,840, profit = ₦840. If all four had won, the six doubles would return ₦12,045.

Notice how the void behaves. D did not win, but it did not lose either, so its two surviving doubles were paid at the other leg’s odds alone.

Round robin or one accumulator?

Take the same four picks and the same ₦3,000 as one four-fold. The combined odds are 1.80 × 2.10 × 1.65 × 2.50 = 15.59.

Bet (₦3,000 total) All four win C loses, rest win
One four-fold ₦46,777.50 ₦0
Six doubles at ₦500 ₦12,045 ₦6,765

The round robin gives up most of the top prize to survive one bad result. It suits a list of picks you rate highly where any one could slip. A single acca suits a short list you would back together anyway; the acca calculator handles that case, and our daily accumulator tips are built as single slips.

Reading the return, profit and maximum return

Return adds up every combination that survived your results. Profit is return minus total stake, and it can be negative even when most picks win. In the example above, if only A and B had won and both C and D had lost, just one double would pay ₦1,890 against ₦3,000 staked: a loss of ₦1,110.

Maximum return assumes every leg wins. Use it as a ceiling, not a target, and compare it with the total stake to see what the full round robin pays at best.

Common round robin mistakes

  • Confusing stake per bet with total stake. ₦1,000 on all combinations of 5 picks is ₦26,000.
  • Using very short odds. Two legs at 1.30 make a double at only 1.69; with trebles, one loser can leave the rest short of your stake.
  • Picking two legs from the same match. Most bookmakers will not combine them, and they rise and fall together anyway.
  • Choosing “all combinations” on 8 picks. That is 247 bets; check the total stake before you confirm.

Price each pick before you combine it. A round robin of poor value selections only spreads the same bookmaker margin across more slips. Check single prices with the betting odds calculator.
