A no-deposit free bet is a small stake or a few free spins that a betting site gives you for registering or verifying your account, before you pay in any money. It costs nothing to claim, but these offers are rare, usually small, and come with conditions that limit what you can take out. The list above is filtered to bookmakers currently running one.

What no-deposit offers usually include

No-deposit offers come in a few shapes. The most common is a small free bet credited after you register and verify your phone number or ID. Others are free spins on a casino game, a free stake on a specific match or competition, or a free bet earned through a loyalty or referral scheme. Each has its own rules, and the word “free” describes the stake, not the withdrawal.

Bookmakers use them to get you to open and verify an account, hoping you will deposit later. That is why the amounts are kept small and why many require a deposit before any winnings can be withdrawn.

How a no-deposit free bet pays out

Almost all free bets are “stake not returned”: if the bet wins you get the profit only. That changes which odds make sense.

Example You receive a ₦500 free bet and place it at odds of 2.40. It wins: the full return would be ₦1,200, but the ₦500 stake is kept, so ₦700 is added to your balance. At odds of 1.30, a win adds only ₦150. If the offer caps winnings at ₦5,000, a ₦500 free bet at 15.00 that wins would pay ₦7,000 profit, cut to ₦5,000.

Very short odds waste most of a free bet’s value, because the stake you never get back is a large share of the return. Odds roughly between 2.00 and 4.00 keep a reasonable chance of winning while turning more of the token into cash. Our guide to reading odds and implied probability shows how to judge the chance behind a price, and the odds calculator works out returns for you.

What a ₦500 free bet is worth on average

You can estimate a free bet’s average value from the odds. Take the bookmaker’s implied chance of the bet winning (1 divided by the odds), trim it for the built-in margin, then multiply by the profit a win would pay. Using an illustrative 5% margin:

Odds Profit if it wins Average value
1.30 ₦150 about ₦110
2.40 ₦700 about ₦277
4.00 ₦1,500 about ₦356

So a ₦500 free bet is realistically worth a few hundred Naira, not ₦500, and it is worth noticeably more when placed at medium odds than on a heavy favourite. That is a useful reality check when an offer requires a long sign-up or a deposit to release it.

The terms that decide what it is worth

Term What to look for
Trigger Registration, phone or ID verification, or opt-in code
Validity Days before the free bet expires
Minimum odds Per selection or whole slip
Eligible markets Specific match, sport or any event
Winnings cap Maximum you can withdraw
Withdrawal condition Deposit or wagering needed first

The last row is the one most punters miss. A common pattern is that winnings land as bonus money that must be wagered, or that you must deposit a minimum amount and verify your ID before the first withdrawal. Neither is unfair, but both should be stated before you claim.

Finding a current no-deposit offer

Which bookmakers run one changes often, because these promotions run for limited periods. Use the list above, which shows only bookmakers with a current no-deposit offer, then open the full terms on the bookmaker’s site before registering. Our scoring method adds half a point to the bonus score for a no-deposit offer, but bonus terms weigh only 10% of the total, so a free bet should never be your main reason to choose a site over its licence or payout record. The complete bookmaker ranking shows the full picture.

If you are prepared to deposit, a standard welcome offer is usually larger; the welcome bonus guide shows how to calculate whether its wagering is worth it.

How to claim a no-deposit free bet cleanly

  1. Read the promotion page first. Note any code, the expiry and whether you must opt in at sign-up.
  2. Register with real details. Your name must match your ID and bank account, or the eventual withdrawal fails.
  3. Complete the trigger. Verify your phone number, NIN or ID as the offer requires, then check the bonus section for the token.
  4. Place it before expiry. Pick an eligible market at or above the minimum odds; a token you forget is lost.
  5. Check withdrawal conditions. If a deposit or wagering is required to release winnings, decide whether that suits you before you play on.

Many offers are app-only or easier to activate in the app; our guide to installing bookmaker apps safely covers that step.

Fake free-money offers to ignore

A real no-deposit offer is shown on the bookmaker’s own website and credited inside your account. Anyone on WhatsApp, Telegram or TikTok who asks you to pay an “activation fee”, share your login or send an OTP to release free money is running a scam.

Creating extra accounts with friends’ or family members’ details to claim the same offer again breaks every bookmaker’s terms. It leads to closed accounts, voided winnings and identity problems for the people whose details were used.

Free spins and casino no-deposit offers

Some no-deposit promotions are free spins or free rounds on casino and crash games rather than sports free bets. Winnings from these usually carry wagering as bonus money, often with a higher multiple than sports offers. If an offer gives free rounds on the crash game, read how Aviator rounds work before you use them. Treat any free offer as a trial of the site, and set a deposit limit before you add money; our safer gambling tools page explains how.

Frequently asked questions

Rarely. Most bookmakers require you to verify your ID, and many also ask for a minimum first deposit or some wagering of the winnings before the first withdrawal. Check the withdrawal condition in the offer terms before claiming so you are not surprised later.
