Winners Golden Bet (often shortened to WGB) is one of the older Nigerian-owned sportsbooks, aimed at small-stake football punters. This Winners Golden Bet review sets out what can be confirmed, and where the gaps are, so you can decide whether it deserves your deposit.

Ownership and the licence question

The operator is Winners Golden Bet Nigeria Limited, a locally owned company. The National Lottery Regulatory Commission list shows it with a five-year sports betting licence from 19 June 2020 to 18 June 2025, with no renewal row. Since the Supreme Court ruling of 22 November 2024, NLRC licences only cover the FCT in any case.

A Lagos list reported in September 2025 named “Winners Golden Bet Limited: BETWGB” among licensed operators. However, the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority register we checked in October 2026 had no online sports betting entry for the brand. The similarly named Winners Golden Chance Venture Limited, which runs Golden Chance Lotto, is a separate company.

No current licence number could be confirmed. That does not prove the site is unlicensed, but it does mean you have less protection if a payout is disputed. Our guide to Nigerian betting licences explains how to check a state register yourself.

WGB bonus offer and what it is worth

The most recent terms we found, reported by Complete Sports in October 2026, describe a ₦1,000 bonus for new customers who stake ₦1,000. The bonus must be used on a slip of at least five events, each at odds of 1.30 or more, within 72 hours, and the total payout from bonus selections is capped at ₦2,000. Older reviews describe a 100% match up to ₦50,000 with 10x wagering, so offers appear to change often.

Bonus maths: five legs at 1.30 each give combined odds of about 3.71. A ₦1,000 bonus stake would return around ₦3,710, but the ₦2,000 cap trims that. The offer is a small taster, not a reason to choose the site.

Registering with Winners Golden Bet

  1. Open the official site in your browser and choose Register.
  2. Enter your mobile number and personal details, using the same name as your bank account.
  3. Set a password and confirm the verification code sent to your phone.
  4. Log in and fund your account from ₦100 through the cashier.
  5. Keep a valid ID ready in case the operator asks for verification before paying out.

Football focus and other sports

Football dominates the coupon, with the major European leagues and the Nigeria Premier Football League, which local punters value. Reviewers count about 25 sports in total, including basketball, tennis, handball, volleyball and table tennis, plus occasional specials. Market depth is thinner than at the big multinational brands, so it suits straightforward bets such as 1X2, double chance and goal totals.

In-play betting at Winners Golden Bet

Live betting is available on football and several other sports, with live scores and statistics, and you can pin matches you want to follow. We found no evidence of live video, and cash out is mentioned by only one review, so do not plan bets around either feature.

Virtual games and casino titles

The site’s own description lists virtuals and a casino section, naming games such as Dog Racing, Lucky Greek, Lucky Balls and the Rocketman crash game. We could not confirm Aviator. Rapid-fire virtual events make it easy to overspend, so read our virtual football explainer first.

Mobile betting without a confirmed app

One 2026 review states that there is no Winners Golden Bet app and that two mobile website versions are offered; another mentions apps but gives no store links. Use the mobile site in Chrome or Safari, and be wary of APK files offered on unofficial pages.

Payments and withdrawals

Deposits run through Nigerian gateways: Paystack, Flutterwave, Quickteller (Interswitch and WebPay), Visa, Mastercard and Verve cards, and bank transfer. Most 2026 reviews give a ₦100 minimum. Withdrawals are requested from your account page and paid to a Nigerian bank account. The operator does not publish withdrawal limits or processing times that we could confirm.

Contacting Winners Golden Bet

Reviews list live chat, email and phone support, plus Facebook and X. Hours are not published, so expect slower answers late at night. Keep screenshots of deposits and bet IDs when raising a complaint.

Is Winners Golden Bet worth it?

WGB can work for small-stake punters who prefer a local brand and simple football bets. Anyone depositing larger amounts or wanting an app, a clear licence and published payout times will be better served by Bet9ja or NairaBet, both long-running Nigerian names.

7.5/10

Our verdict on Winners Golden Bet

Winners Golden Bet suits punters who want a home-grown bookmaker with ₦100 deposits, live football betting and quick virtual games, and who mainly stake small amounts. Its welcome bonus is tiny and capped, there is no confirmed native app, and its licence position is unclear: the NLRC permit on record ended in June 2025, and the operator no longer appears on the Lagos register we checked. Until it publishes a current licence, larger bankrolls are better placed with a bookmaker that does.

Winners Golden Bet FAQ

The NLRC list shows a sports betting licence for Winners Golden Bet Nigeria Limited from June 2020 to June 2025, and a September 2025 report listed the brand as licensed in Lagos. The October 2026 Lagos register we checked did not include it, so ask the operator for its current licence before depositing.
